On-line teaching and evaluation done at Modi College
Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala conducted on-line capacity building programmes, internet-based classes, Aptitude/logical reasoning /G.K tests and a tele-counseling cell. The initiatives are taken in the light of discontinuity of face-to-face classes due to the lock down. It helped the students to complete their syllabus, preparation for further studies and placement and cope with the stress caused by the pandemic. These programmes were designed by the General Study Circle and Placement Cell of the college. The on-line classes were started by the college from 16th March. Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar said that in these times of difficulty and uncertainty we not only need to continue learning but focus on developing our surviving skills like empathy and understanding also. This time will certainly pass but we need to prepare our students for different competitive examinations and entrance exams .We need to motivate our students to participate in re-building and re-inventing strategies and methods to combat such global problems in a better way. While disclosing the results of an on-line feedback survey conducted on students and teachers of Modi college, he told that 69.8 percent students marked the conceptual understanding through on-line learning (OLL) as excellent and 26.45% as satisfactory whereas 63% teachers are fully satisfied and 27% partially satisfied with students learning. Most preferred mode for learning resources by teachers was PDF followed by recorded lectures. Most preferred app for virtual classes was Zoom followed by free conference. Eighty six percent teachers used assignments, seventy seven percent used on-line quiz and five percent on-line seminar for evaluation of the students (a teacher used multiple methods for evaluation). College also successfully conducted mid-term examination through on-line mode. College Registrar Dr. Ajit Kumar told that 95% students appeared successfully for examination. He told that we are also trying to address the problems of students who were not able to access our on-line learning due to internet or mobile related problems. The overall experience of on-line teaching was reported excellent by 19.8% students and 14% teachers; Good by 52.5% students and 50% teachers; Satisfactory by 23.27% students and 36% teachers whereas 4.4% students and no teacher reported it as poor experience.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਲਾਕਡਾਉਂਨ ਦੇ ਚਲਦਿਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ – ਵੱਖ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ, ਇੰਟਰਨੈੱਟ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ, ਯੋਗਤਾ/ਲੋਜੀਕਲ ਰੀਜ਼ਨਿੰਗ/ਜਰਨਲ ਨਾਲਿਜ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਟੈਸਟ ਅਤੇ ਟੈਲੀ- ਕਾਉਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਨਾ ਲਾ ਸਕਣ ਦੇ ਬਦਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਇਹਨਾ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਧੂਰਾ ਸਿਲੇਬਸ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਥੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਤੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾ ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਪਜੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤਣਾਓ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਨਿਜਾਤ ਪਾਈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਜਰਨਲ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਤੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਜਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਲੋਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ 16 ਮਾਰਚ ਤੋਂ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤਤਾ ਭਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਬਲਕਿ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਦੇ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਦਾਰੀ ਜਿਹੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਸਮਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਲੰਘ ਹੀ ਜਾਏਗਾ ਪਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ – ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਯੋਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਵਿਆਪੀ ਸਮਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੁਨਰ – ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਤੇ ਪੁਨਰ – ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਣਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਫੀਡ ਬੈਕ ਸਰਵੇ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਸਮਝ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ 69.8 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ , 26.45 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਜਦੋਂਕਿ 63 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇ 27 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਂਸ਼ਿਕ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪੀਡੀਐਫ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕੀਤੇ ਲੈਕਚਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਵਰਚੂਅਲ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ੂਮ ਐਪ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਫਰੀ – ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਐਪ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ 86 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਸਾਇੰਨਮੈਟ, 77 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਕੁਇਜ਼ ,05 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਉਪਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਕ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਡ ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਲਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਿਡ ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਵਿਚ 95 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਓਹਨਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਢੁਕਵਾਂ ਹੱਲ ਲੱਭ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈੱਟ ਜਾਂ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਫੋਨ ਜਾਂ ਓਹਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਚ ਭਾਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਸਕੇ। ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਤਜੁਰਬੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜੇ ਦਸਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਓਹਨਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਅਧਿਆਪਨ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੱਚਾ ਤਜੁਰਬਾ 19.8 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ 14 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ , 52.5 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ 50 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ, 23.27 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ 36 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਗਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ 4.4 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਮਾੜੇ ਤਜੁਰਬੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਸਿਆ।
